Termite Control Services
Keep Termites Out of Your Yard and Home
At Bugwacker Termite & Pest Control, we understand that termites are masters when it comes to hiding in your yard or home. Unfortunately, while undetected they are often addressing their hunger by burrowing into the wooden parts of your house and devouring the materials.
Outside, termites eat all kinds of wood, including dead trees, stumps, plants, and even living trees. Once they get inside your home, their hunt for wood goes on and they may eat furniture, shelves, and books.
If they get into your home's structure, they can weaken beams and even cause them to crack and break. Walls also may collapse.
Watch Out for Termite Colonies and Swarms
Because termites live in colonies like ants, they often swarm. In the spring, they'll fly in search of a new location to set up a new breeding ground. In one season, they can spread to several new locations.
You may see them congregating around your windows and doors, drawn both to the light and the presence of wood, which they will begin to eat.
Two Kinds of Termites Pose a Threat to Your Home
- Subterranean termites live in mounds and use mud tunnels to access above-ground food sources, like the wood in your home.
- Formosan termites build colonies inside structures and have a voracious appetite. Before you see any evidence of them, they can cause severe damage to your home. Watch out for mounds of mud and tunnels!
